Westerner

About this template

Westerner is a free Framer blog template with a hand-made engraving look: black ink stipple illustrations on warm cream paper under a giant masthead. Every engraving inks itself in as you scroll, darkest dots first, and dissolves into the real photograph when you hover it.

Use it as a travel blog, a road trip journal, an outdoor or nature magazine, a regional or local publication, or a personal writing site with a strong editorial feel. It reads like a printed almanac but works like a modern blog, with fast reading pages and simple publishing in the CMS.

What's inside

A masthead hero where the engraving inks in behind the title, and a lead story with a mile counter that ticks up as you scroll

Latest stories from the CMS with engravings that dissolve to photos, and a stippled relief route map where the line draws between story pins

Category plates, an almanac band with a waxing moon, field notes that drift on scroll, an editor section and a Sunday newsletter form

Article, category, route, field notes, about, Edit Me, legal and 404 pages, with tablet and phone layouts

An engraving component that turns any photo you add into a stipple illustration automatically

Stories, plates and field notes are CMS collections with clear fields, so you can publish new posts, add pins to the map and change categories in minutes without code.

Good for: travel writers, road trip and outdoor bloggers, nature and regional magazines and anyone who wants a distinctive editorial blog template in Framer.
