About this template

Ligatra is a website template for independent type foundries and type designers.

The specimen moves. The home page is a wall of giant letters where every row always fills the full width by changing letter width alone. Letters near the cursor spring to the opposite weight and widen while the rest of the row narrows to make room. Scrolling sweeps the wall from light to heavy, then hands over to the next typeface letter by letter: each glyph thins to a hairline, switches family and thickens again.

Quieter passages sit between the walls: a single letter at full height with its measurements ruled in, a reading paragraph and a waterfall.

Included: a Families CMS whose font name, stylesheet and axis ranges feed every interactive part, so you plug in your own variable fonts. Six code components, navigation with a phone drawer, buttons, form states, and desktop, tablet and phone layouts. Demo fonts are free Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
