Connection is a free website template for First Nations artists, art centres and the people who support them: a place to share artworks, the process behind them, and connection to Country, on the artist's own terms.
Artworks resolve out of their own colours as visitors scroll. Each piece has its own page that tells how it came together, stage by stage, straight from the CMS. A news section keeps exhibitions, awards and community projects up to date.
The Country map lets an artist name their Country and mob and mark an approximate area. It draws no boundaries of its own: the artist describes their Country, and the map says so.
Every colour comes from ten Brand colour styles, and every piece of text from a set of text styles, so a palette, typefaces or a full brand book can be applied in minutes. A built-in style guide walks through it.
Respect is built in: a notice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visitors, an Acknowledgement of Country, and an artwork copyright line. Bring your own artworks and patterns; the template ships with neutral placeholders and invents no cultural designs.
